Introduction

My life--every life--is full of experiences. Things that either help us grow or tear us down. The funny thing is, we don’t usually get to choose our experiences; but we do decide what they do to us.  No matter what happens, the effect thereof is completely dependent upon how we choose to let it affect us.  We may not be able to choose all the thoughts that come into our heads, but we can decide whether or not to let them stay.  We have been given the power of agency. Let us use it well.
Life is an interesting thing.  We came from the spirit world here to earth. What a contrast!  Suddenly we were limited. There were new natural laws we had to obey. We were trapped inside a tabernacle of clay, able only to perform such acts as this mortal body could allow. We knew and could understand almost everything; and then we could not even grasp the simplest of concepts. We came from eons of growth; then all had to be relearned. Even the wisest of people on earth are embryo compared to those closer to God, not to mention God Himself. Yet each of us has a mission. We were given the challenge to perform and complete that mission with no memory of God and our previous life with Him. We had to start from Square One.
God is a loving god. He does not leave us comfortless, nor does He remove all connection between heaven and us.  How could He leave us to wander, trying to find the right path, having no knowledge of which to choose?  He has endowed us with a small connection, a slight remembrance of our heavenly home. We have the power to recognize when something is right.
But there must be opposition in all things.  If we had only good influences, how would there be a choice? There has to be something that pushes for the other side, something we have to choose from.  This conflict of voices that speak to us creates a lot of confusion.  Thoughts are a powerful force in helping us learn and grow, and also in what path we choose to follow. Pondering is something the Lord often encourages in the scriptures. This is a collection of the pondering of a girl's heart.
